VISION OF DESTINY
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27

The Challenge

Extreme Poverty:
Over 11 million children die each year from starvation.  Millions more will be small for their age or suffer
cognitive deficits due to chronic malnutrition.
HIV/AIDS:
Worldwide, there are approximately 33.2 million (and growing) people living with HIV/AIDS.  More than
90% of children living with the disease live in sub-Saharan Africa.  Only 1 in 20 of these children
receive the treatment necessary to fight the disease.
In 2006, 2.9 million people died of AIDS.  Of these, 2.1 million lived in sub-Saharan African.

Orphans:
Each day, approximately 43,000 children become orphans.
Homeless/Street Kids:
Over 200 million children worldwide live or work on the streets.  This often pushes them into drug abuse.

Child Laborers:
Millions of children are forced to work for their survival, cutting shorty opportunity of education.
The Vision

Vision of Destiny began in response to the hardships of these children with the objective
of taking them from these circumstances, restoring hope to their lives, and giving them a
brighter future.
The desire of Vision of Destiny is to see these children be raised up as a generation that
knows and loves the Lord.
We don't want to just meet their physical needs, but pray that they will grow in their spiritual
lives.
We desire for each child to be introduced to a better standard of living, one that honors
God.
Our prayer is that these children will grow into a future generation of leaders, helping to
rebuild the lives of those living in their communities.
